With biblical understanding that each Christian has a divine calling and place in the Body of Christ, we offer a wide range of ministries that offers opportunities for individuals to serve and live out their glorious destiny in Christ Jesus. We would love to get you plugged-in to one of our ministries.
The Barnabas Ministry serves to encourage those that are going through grief and discouraging seasons in life through emails, cards, phone calls, etc. This ministry is led by Rachel Griffin, a very talented and gifted encourager.
We do not look upon our children as the church of tomorrow. We consider them a vital part of the EMPHC Family today. We are committed to instructing them in the ways of the Lord through sound biblical teaching and worship on their level. We offer Kid’s Church on Sunday morning, E-3 on Sunday night, and various other activities throughout the year. Amy Morgan, our Children’s Ministry Director, is committed to our children’s spiritual growth.
Lawn & Landscape Ministry
We believe the appearance of the church grounds is important because it reflects the church family’s commitment to their House of Worship. We are indeed blessed to have Wayne Williamson serving as the Director of this ministry. He has a deep love and commitment to EMPHC.
Media & Sound Ministry
The Media & Sound Ministry greatly enhances the quality of our church services by maintaining and operating the sound equipment and media presentations during our services. We are blessed to have Beth Compton serving as the Director of this ministry as well as other highly qualified technicians.
The Men’s Ministry meets each month during Family Ministry Night and serves to encourage and equip men for ministry. We love to have fellowship with one another and eat together, but we also strive to activate men into the ministry. Gene Morgan, Jr. serves well as the Men’s Ministry Director.
Music is important in worship, and worship is important to us here at EMPHC. We are blessed with a Praise Team that is not only talented but anointed. We offer a blended style of worship with the singing of Hymns, Southern Gospel, and Contemporary. Our endeavor is to connect worshippers with the Triune God we serve. Pastor Gene serves as the temporary Praise Team Leader with the assistance of Amy Morgan.
We are blessed with a group of volunteers that staff our Nursery during the Sunday Worship Service. This ministry falls under the supervision of Donnie Anderson, one of our Administrative Council Members.
This ministry serves to visit and encourage those who reside in nursing homes and those who are homebound and no longer able to attend church services. This ministry is led by Audrey Boatwright.
Every Sunday morning at 9:45 am, we offer Sunday school classes for adults and children of all ages. We have biblical lessons specially designed for each age group with well qualified teachers. Wanda McLendon serves as our Sunday School Superintendent.
The Usher/Greeter Ministry is led faithfully by Faye Graham, and it serves to greet people upon their arrival at church, to assist in receiving the offertory, and when needed in parking vehicles. We feel that it is important for everyone to be welcomed with a friendly smile and firm handshake.
The Women’s Ministry meets each month during Family Ministry Night for the purpose of encouraging and equipping women for ministry in the local church and beyond. Wanda McLendon does an excellent job serving as the Women’s Ministry President.
We are a mission-minded church, committed to making “disciples of all the nations” as Jesus commanded in the Great Commission. The first Sunday of each month is designated as “Mission Emphasis Sunday.” On these Sundays, there is a breakfast before Sunday School at 8:45 am, and all of the loose change in the offering plates goes to our missions fund. Josh Compton leads this ministry with excellence.
Young at Heart
The Young at Heart is a ministry for adults, 55 and above. They meet the second Tuesday of each month for a meal and fellowship. They also have other activities throughout the year. Lynn Graham does an outstanding job servicing as the Young at Heart Director.
The Youth Ministry meets each Sunday night at 5:00 p.m. This ministry provides biblical instruction on matters of importance to our youth and helps them grow in their spiritual walk. Charlie and Lucy Watson serve as our Youth Pastors, and they do a wonderful job mentoring and working with our youth.
